Poultry:  We will begin selling a limited selection of day old chicks LOCALLY beginning 10 December 2010.  

CHICKS AVAILABLE.  We have the following breeds ready to go NOW:  Salmon Faverolle, Assorted Varieties of Maran, Nankin, Blue and Black Orpington, and White Ameraucana.

Fertile Hatching Eggs:  We will begin shipments of Fertile Hatching eggs on 1 March 2010.

Chick Starter Kit:  Includes a brooder light, infrared brooder bulb, brooder thermometer, one quart waterer with two interchangable bases, a one quart feeder with removable chick feeder base, and one quart of premium chick starter crumbles.  Click here for more details, pricing, and shipping information.

Shipping: 

International Customers:  Over the years we've had the honor of having requests for our eggs not only from all over the United States but from all over the world.  Unfortunately, due to regulations, we are not allowed to ship outside of the United States. 

Hatching support is offered at $15 per hatch to International Customers and others not purchasing their eggs from Buc~A~Buc Farm.   You will receive step by step, one on one incubation instructions, trouble shooting, and tech support throughout 25 consecutive days to help you get your best hatch and your chicks off to a good start.  Buc~A~Buc Farm egg customers receive FREE hatching support.

Note to E-Bay Customers:  If you wish to purchase your eggs via e-bay, please add an additional $5 to cover their myriad of service fees.  Notify me you are interested in a Buy It Now sale and I will make arrangements to post one for you ASAP.  Please note e-Bay does not allow the sale of live animals. 

Visitors:  Folks, we love visitors and love to show off our birds and other animals.  I can stand in the yard and talk chicken until the end o' time... but, due to bio-security and safety issues, we no longer allow customers to tour our small farm.

Picking up Eggs or Poultry:  Poultry and eggs must be ordered prior to pick up and are generally available throughout the week.  PLEASE CALL AHEAD or E-MAIL TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.  We have a 107# working farm dog that protects our animals and our property.  He must be kenneled before your arrival.  If you arrive at our farm without an appointment DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR VEHICLE.  I'm not kidding, folks.  This is a working dog and he takes his job seriously.

*Self Blue Lavender Silkie Eggs.  Folks, I realize an order of TWO eggs is ridiculously small.  It is simply all I can spare.  I only offer them because so many folks want them.  I have so few of these birds and hatch nearly every egg I get from them.  I only offer what I do because I get so many requests.  Truly, I wish I had more to share with you.

**What are our mixed breeds?  We have about ten large fowl hens and roosters of assorted pure breeds that we allow to free range in our yard.   They are not in breeding pens and so their offspring will likely not be pure bred.  Likewise we have a small pen of bantam hens of various pure breeds in with a Nankin Rooster.  We refer to and sell these eggs as Mixed Breeds.

About our fertile hatching eggs.  I candle each egg for any obvious problems and only send the best of the best. There is a young, healthy, fertile rooster kept with each small group of hens and I have "test" hatched eggs from each hen. I can say with confidence these eggs are fertile. However, if they are shaken, dropped, x-rayed, frozen, etc. in transit the "germ" may die before it begins to develop and the egg can appear to have never been fertile. Please understand this does not mean it wasn't viable when it left my house. These are EGGS being shipped thru the MAIL, folks. So many, MANY things beyond my control can happen. I offer quality fresh eggs packed beyond compare and give you stellar, polite, honest, and friendly service from beginning to end.

My customers can tell you I am with them thru the entire hatch and beyond to answer any and all questions. I go out of my way to be as helpful, fair, and generous as possible. As noted before, since there are SO MANY variables completely out of my control once the eggs leave my hands, I do my utmost to take care of the things I CAN control:

• The Quality of Your Shipment. My eggs are fresh, clean (because my nests are clean), fertile, and thoroughly checked over for any flaw or problem. Only the best of the best are shipped.

• The Care In Packaging. My packing is incomparable. Out of the thousands of eggs I've shipped I've only had one egg arrive broken. I do not skimp on my packaging. I routinely ship around the country and yes, even to Hawaii.

• Communication. From the moment you purchase my eggs, you will receive clear instructions and know exactly what is happening w/ your shipment every step of the way. Once your eggs arrive you will receive even more instructions followed by reminder e-mails and of course continued service throughout your hatch and beyond.

One last note:  All of my sales are of course, the Good Lord Willing.  I'm sure you've all heard the old saying, "Don't count your chickens before they hatch!"  Sometimes our plans don't go as expected.  Not often, but occasionally I am unable to meet an order.  The hens don't lay the anticipated amount of eggs, the electricity goes out and I lose a hatch, the list goes on.  In this event, customers will be notified immediately and your money refunded in full or you may request a later order.
